What is the treatment?

Lumecca IPL treatment is an effective treatment that reduces and eliminates skin hyperpigmentation and vascular damage (couperosis), redness and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (e.g. acne) and pigmentation due to sun damage. This popular anti-aging device treatment is a quick treatment with visible results after the first or two treatments.

Lumecca IPL uses efficient light energy (Intense Pulse Light) in its technology, the wavelengths of which produce interact with the skin's red and brown pigments (melanin and hemoglobin).

These pigments absorb light energy and are destroyed, often in just one treatment. The hyperpigmentation spots break down and are either absorbed and removed into the blood and lymphatic system, and the vascular lesions disappear almost immediately.

Lumecca has high precisions and resolution of sun-induced pigmentation and redness and is one of the most effective treatments for these problems.

What are the results of the treatment?a can be achieved?

Treatment results are visible after the first or two treatments. Lumecca IPL treatment achieves an even skin tone, youthful, fresh and healthier skin.

Healing time

Depending on the skin problem being treated, the healing time varies, but on average, post-treatment reactions will fully recover within 7 days when you follow the aftercare that the treating staff will go through with you.

It is likely that your skin will be red immediately after the treatment. This usually disappears within an hour of treatment. Swelling may occur during the first few hours after the treatment and minor swelling may occur during the first week. Pigmentation areas usually darken within 24 hours after the treatment, after which these areas may peel/flake off. Occasionally, bruising may occur when treating larger blood vessels. The surface blood vessels are also treated immediately during the treatment and are then manifested as a purple shade that lasts for about two weeks. After these reactions, the skin tone is immediately more even.

Keeping up the results

Depending on the skin type, Klinik Linnea recommends 2-4 treatments for optimal and ideal treatment results. We recommend doing the treatments approx. 4 weeks apart.

Lumecca IPL treatment can be used with many other treatments we offer at the clinic, depending on the skin problem and skin type. These may include; chemical peels, microneedling, filler treatments and botulinum treatments and other device treatments.

Aftercare instructions

Avoid skin contact on the first day. Direct sunlight should be avoided for at least one month after the treatment. In order to preserve the treatment result, protecting the skin from the sun is also very important. Klinik Linnea recommends using sunscreen all year round. In addition to reducing the risk of skin cancer in the future, sunscreens also reduce wrinkles and slow down the aging process. We recommend avoiding sweaty exercise and saunas for the first 2-3 days. Makeup can be applied to the treatment area after 1-2 days. We recommend avoiding retinol products and strong skin care products (AHA, BHA) for the first 5 days after the treatment.
